Accendo Medicare Supplement Plans
It can be tough to budget your healthcare costs, especially as you get older and have more options available to you along with more medical costs. Seniors tend to spend more time at the hospital hand those younger than them, and they spend more on healthcare insurance and services. Accendo Medicare Supplement plans may be able to help seniors like yourself to navigate these financially tough times, reduce some stress and get coverage where it is most needed.
What’s a Supplement Plan?
Medicare Supplements are add-on insurance for Original Medicare. They cannot stand on their own, but they perfectly complement the powerful coverage of an Original Medicare plan. The Supplement plans are a diverse lot that can meet needs of different kinds of seniors if you just need a little extra coverage, then there is a Supplement plan for that. If you need a lot of coverage and need all those coverage gaps filled in, then there are Supplements plans that can do that for you.
Many seniors find themselves having a hard time paying for medical care, even when Original Medicare is covering them. They have a lot of medical expenses to pay, like copayments, deductibles, nursing care, blood usage and more. They either pay these expenses out of pocket or they find a way to get them covered.
Medicare Supplements are available to any senior who has Original Medicare and who is 65 or older. Those who can enroll earlier than that have to prove that they have disability or some other eligible situation or condition. Medicare Supplements are available to you for enrollment near your 65th birthday, and you can sign up as early as three months before your birthday month. You have until three months after to get your application in before you lose the chance to sign up.
Don’t worry, though, as you will have another opportunity to enroll in a Medicare Supplement. This next opportunity starts on October 15th. This is the beginning of the annual enrollment period, and you have until December 7th to get your application in. This period of enrollment comes around once a year, so be sure to get on board at that time, if you need this kind of coverage.
Signing up during the open enrollment period around your 65th birthday is your best chance for good prices. Your medical conditions cannot factor into the cost of the plan. You are also guaranteed to be approved for whichever Supplement plan you apply for. You lose all that when you apply during the annual enrollment, and you may have to pay a late fee.

Which Accendo Plan to Sign Up for?

Accendo sells a few different Supplement plans, and it sets its own prices for these plans. Some of them offer you high coverage and some offer low coverage, so which one should you go with?
If you look at the trends of most seniors, they usually sign up for Medicare Supplement Plan G. This has been the most popular plan for a while now, and it is a really good plan. It offers a lot of coverage and a lot of value, and we recommend it to anyone who needs tons of coverage.
Plan G will cover you for all Medicare Part A and Part B copayments, which are your per-visit fees for when you go to the doctor’s office or to the hospital. You also get coverage for the Part A deductible for the year. Part B’s deductible is not going to be covered, however.
Under Plan G, you also get coverage for Medicare Part A’s hospice coinsurance and for any nursing coinsurance costs you need covered. You’ll be covered as well for foreign travel exchange costs up to 80% an incident (and $50,000 over your lifetime), as well as for three pints of blood used each year.
There is another of the Accendo Medicare Supplement plans that you might get more value from. That would be Plan N, which we urge every senior to consider. Even if you don’t need all of the coverage that this plan gives you, you can enjoy peace of mind that comes from having a lot of expenses covered. You know you’ll be covered for most eventualities and won’t have to pay much out of pocket when you enroll in a Supplement like this.
Plan N covers most supplemental expenses. The few it doesn’t cover would be the Medicare Part B excess charges, Part B’s annual deductible and some of the Part B copayments. You can probably take care of all that yourself and pay less than if you were to sign up for a more powerful, higher coverage Supplement plan.
Speaking of powerful Supplements, you may have heard about Plan F. This Supplement used to be the most popular of the entire lineup, but now it is hard to find. The reason for that is because it has been delisted. It isn’t be offered to the general public anymore. It is only available to those who have it as their plan currently and who choose to renew their coverage for the following year. It isn’t a Supplement plan that you can sign up for as a new plan any longer.
